Freshness & Longevity

  • When your flowers arrive - cut about 1/4" from each stem of flowers & foliage.
  • Repeat this procedure every 2-3 days & refill the vase with fresh water.
  • You can also spray your flowers with mist each day to keep them moist.
  • There are organic water enhancers on the market. We cannot recommend any of them but understanding is that this process "breaks down the molecular structure of water" allowing greater through cellular walls. It is maintained this keeps flowers & even vegetables longer.

The One Step Arrangement
Exotic flowers shipped loose arrive with long stems. If you have a large mouth in your vase you'll create an elegant arrangement by leaving the flowers long and unmeasured. Your arrangement is easy, once you clip the 1/4" from each stem just set them in the vase with water and let them fall out naturally. This makes a very elegant floral arrangement.

Making a Symmetric Arrangement.

Step 1

Cut a 1/4" from each stem as directed above (1/8" from foliage will do fine).

Step 2

Lay them out so you have a good view of each piece you're working with. Remember, your large flowers should be the center focus of your arrangement. King Protea work well here.

Step 3

Begin with the largest flower and place it in the center and high in the arrangement you are about to create. You now have your center focus and you're ready to begin to build on it.

Step 4

Selecting the 2nd to the largest flower lay it so its top is near the base of the 1st flower. Don't worry about the length extended over the base of the table... this is your cutting line. Note: every flower will fall in its own direction. let it lay where it naturally rests and work with the shape it provides for your design.

Step 5

Repeat the procedure with the next largest flower and so on, making sure the top of the flower is near to the base of the second flower. When you reach the smaller and more evenly sized flowers begin placing 2 at a time near the same height. They should always be a little lower or higher than the other almost never the same length.

Step 6

Add large foliage where it looks good and now you're ready to cut. Use the table's edge as your cutting guide. Holding down the flowers with one hand and using a sharp cutting tool with the other begin to cut one flower at a time.

Step 7

Take up the entire bunch and set them in the vase letting them fall loose. Now go ahead and move them around until you have the effect you want.

Step 8

Use the rest of your small flowers and foliage as accents and fill cutting them as you go. The clipped pieces make good space holders inside the vase if needed. Throw the rest into your compost pile or bin... and add the rich Maui soil to your land.

That's it! You now have an exquisite floral arrangement to put in place. Don't forget to cut the stems every now and then and keep your water fresh.
